Information about emergency travel documents
Information about Temporary Travel Documents (TTD) or Emergency Travel Documents (ETD) issued for emergency travel back to Zimbabwe when a valid passport is not available. This document is valid for one-way travel to Zimbabwe only and cannot be used for re-entry into South Africa.
Important Warning
- • TTD/ETD is valid for ONE-WAY travel to Zimbabwe ONLY
- • This document CANNOT be used to re-enter South Africa
- • Ensure you have proper documentation for return travel
- • Airlines may require additional documentation
Required Documents
- Zimbabwean National ID or birth certificate
- Expired Zimbabwean passport (if available)
- Police affidavit (if passport is lost/stolen)
- One recent passport photograph
